Laser skin rejuvenation is an excellent option if you would like to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin or treat a variety of unsightly skin conditions. This safe, effective treatment is minimally invasive, and you will experience minimal, if any, downtime.
During your laser skin rejuvenation procedure, our Denver aestheticians will use a laser to vaporize damaged skin cells in order to stimulate the growth of new skin cells underneath the surface. These new skin cells will produce a smoother, more consistent facial appearance. The procedure is ideally suited to treat:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne and other scars
- Aged or sun-damaged skin
- Liver spots
- Pigmentation issues such as brown spots or freckles
At Facial Aesthetics, we use Laser Genesis with many of our laser skin rejuvenation procedures. Laser Genesis stimulates collagen re-growth and promotes cell production by warming the dermis layer of your skin. The light and heat generated by the laser also targets pigmented clusters underneath the surface of your skin, achieving the following benefits:
- Tighter pores
- Reduced redness
- Alleviation of minor imperfections
- An overall healthier complexion
You will generally need between four and six treatments to achieve optimal results. Our aestheticians may also recommend a skin maintenance program to help you maintain your results for as long as possible.
Please contact Facial Aesthetics today to schedule your initial consultation. We serve patients in the Denver, Colorado area.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is best known for its cosmetic applications. Since receiving FDA approval, it has most commonly been used to treat facial wrinkles, particularly:
- Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
- Forehead wrinkles
- Glabellar lines
- Upper Lip Lines
While this is the most common and best-known use for BOTOX® Cosmetic, wrinkles are not the only condition that can be treated by this miracle drug. In recent years, doctors have discovered a variety of other applications for BOTOX® Cosmetic and as a result, it has developed into a jack-of-all-trades treatment.
Some of the other uses of BOTOX® Cosmetic include the treatment of:
- Migraine headaches
- Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
- Muscle response disorders such as cerebral palsy or multiple sclerosis
- Enlarged prostate and overactive bladders
- Speech impediments caused by vocal cord problems
- Limb tightness and spasms in stroke victims
While not all of these applications have been approved for use by the FDA, Allegan is currently seeking approval for many of these conditions. However, doctors are still permitted to prescribe BOTOX® Cosmetic for many of these off-label uses if they determine it is the best treatment option.
At Facial Aesthetics, our Denver Registered Nurse Injectors regularly administer BOTOX® Cosmetic to reduce the appearance of moderate to deep facial wrinkles. This minimally invasive treatment can be completed in about 15 minutes, and no anesthesia is required. There is almost no downtime, and you should start seeing the result in a few days. Your results should last about three to four months. In order to maintain them for a longer period of time, you will need to return to our office for another set of injections.

Fotofacials employ innovative light-based technology to stimulate collagen production and connective tissue growth in the facial region. This minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure will restore a smoother, more youthful facial complexion and is very effective at treating a variety of skin conditions.
At Facial Aesthetics, we commonly recommend Fotofacials to treat the following conditions:
- Acne
- Brown spots
- Broken capillaries
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven pigmentation
- Rosacea and redness
- Sun damage
There are two different methods for delivering Fotofacial treatment. Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) uses LED (light-emitting diode) technology to boost collagen growth or kill bacteria responsible for acne. This gentle, painless treatment is ideal for reducing facial wrinkles or treating acne. I don’t know where they got this information an LED is a completely different treatment that we add on to the end of a Fotofacial but the Fotofacial its self is not all that “gentle and painless and does not kill the bacteria responsible for acne… needs to be worded differently
The other method, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), uses a hand-held device to administer a bright blast of light at high energy levels. It is an ideal option if you are looking to treat brown spots, broken capillaries, or facial redness.
Our Denver aestheticians will provide you with a custom-designed at-home skin care program to ensure that you experience the best possible results from your treatment. At your complimentary consultation, we will review these options and determine the best treatment plan to address your needs.

As you age, you lose fullness in your face due to a depletion of fat and collagen in the region. This is often most pronounced in your cheeks, giving your face a gaunt and sunken look. If you would like to restore lost fullness in the cheek region, dermal fillers provide you with an excellent non-surgical alternative to cheek implants.
While cheek implants can be an effective way to regain a more youthful facial appearance, it is still a major surgical procedure that is accompanied by many of the risks traditionally associated with surgery. By choosing dermal fillers, you can experience dramatic results with almost no downtime, vastly fewer risks, and a much less invasive procedure.
At Facial Aesthetics, we offer the following dermal filler treatments to correct a sunken look in your cheeks:
At your initial consultation, our Denver Registered Nurse Injectors will listen carefully to your cosmetic goals before recommending the ideal filler to address your unique needs. Your procedure can be completed in one short visit to our Denver Med Spa, and you should begin seeing results almost immediately. You can expect your dermal filler treatment to last anywhere from six months to a year.

Dark circles under the eyes commonly affect many Americans and can make you look older than wrinkles or gray hair. While it may come as a surprise to find out that this condition will age you more than many other cosmetic issues commonly associated with getting older, you should take comfort in the fact that dark circles under the eyes are easily treated at our Denver Med Spa.
There are a variety of reasons why you may develop dark circles under your eyes. Stress, genetics and fatigue are common causes. Often they are a result of a chronic lack of sleep. Other common causes of dark circles include:
- Iron or vitamin deficiency
- Pigmentation irregularities
- Illness
- Smoking
- Weight loss
- Thinning skin and loss of collagen, allowing blood vessels under the eyes to be more visible
- Allergies
- Chronic alcohol use
- Rubbing or scratching your eyes
- Sun exposure
- Fat loss, causing your eyes to have a sunken look
Depending on the cause of your dark circles, you may be able to get rid of them by making a few simple lifestyle changes. Getting more rest, eating a balanced diet, drinking more water, quitting smoking, and reducing alcohol consumption can often reduce the appearance of dark circles. However, in some cases these lifestyle changes may not be enough. In these situations, we can provide you with a variety of treatments to eliminate the circles under your eyes so that you look more youthful and refreshed.
Our Denver Registered Nurse injectors may recommend one of the following treatments to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes:
Dermal fillers can be used to replace lost collagen under the eyes, eliminating the shadowing that causes the appearance of dark circles. Laser skin resurfacing and intense pulsed light treatments are effective at reducing the visibility of prominent veins and capillaries underneath the surface of your skin. Chemical peels can have a rejuvenating effect on the skin near your eyes by exfoliating damaged layers of skin and replacing them with newer, healthier skin.
If you would like to reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes, please contact Facial Aesthetics today to schedule your initial consultation. We serve patients in Denver, Colorado.

The rise in popularity of cosmetic treatments in recent years has resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of providers offering these services. In many ways, choosing the right provider for your desired procedure can be an intimidating process. There are many factors to evaluate before arriving at a health care professional with whom you feel comfortable.
When you are undergoing a non-surgical cosmetic procedure such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or dermal fillers, one of your most important choices involves whether to go to a plastic surgeon or a med spa. While both of these options can deliver exceptional results, there are some important differences between the two.
Med spas are operated under the supervision of a licensed medical doctor, often a board certified plastic surgeon. They provide clinical treatments for a variety of skin conditions as well as many of the relaxing and rejuvenating services provided at a typical day spa.
While it is important to go to a board certified plastic surgeon for all surgical procedures, you might be better off working with a med spa for minimally invasive treatments such as:
The nurses and aestheticians performing these services at a med spa deliver these treatments day in and day out. As a result, they have a strong grasp on the many nuances involved in these procedures, and they know which techniques will deliver the most natural looking outcome for each patient.
Many plastic surgeons make surgical procedures the focus of their practice and therefore do not perform these nonsurgical treatments nearly as often as the nurses and aestheticians at a med spa. They may only administer these nonsurgical procedures once or twice a week instead of multiple times a day. This difference in experience and familiarity with treatment techniques can have a significant impact on your results.
To learn more about the many med spa services we offer, please contact Facial Aesthetics today to schedule your initial consultation. We serve patients in Denver, Colorado.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is an extremely effective way to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, particularly crow’s feet (lines around the eyes) and forehead wrinkles. It is FDA approved for patients between the ages of 18-65, and has become very popular due to its exceptional results, minimally invasive nature, and strong safety record.
Our Denver R.N. Injectors are often asked about the appropriate age to begin BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question. It is a very personal decision that you must make based on how you feel about your appearance.
We regularly treat patients in their mid-to-late 20s and early 30s who would like to get rid of wrinkles as soon as they first start to appear, and we also have many patients who have waited until they are a little bit older to begin undergoing treatments. In general, if you feel like you are ready to take the first step towards reducing the appearance of your wrinkles, then it is the right time to start using BOTOX® Cosmetic.
Recently, there have been several studies published regarding BOTOX® Cosmetic as a preventative treatment. These studies suggest that by starting BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment in the early stages of wrinkle development, you can actually prevent them from becoming more pronounced as you age. Therefore, you may want to consider starting treatment at the first signs of wrinkles in order to preserve a more youthful facial appearance for years to come.

While BOTOX® Cosmetic and Juvederm™ are both commonly used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, they are very different treatments. It is important to understand the difference between the two in order to determine which procedure best meets your unique needs and aesthetic goals.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is made of a solution containing botulinum toxin Type A. When injected into certain strategically chosen facial regions, BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks the nerve impulses that cause your facial muscles to contract. As a result, your facial muscles become temporarily paralyzed, reducing the appearance of wrinkles formed as a result of these muscle contractions. You will experience a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance that lasts about three to four months.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved to treat:
- Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
- Forehead wrinkles
Juvederm is made of a hyaluronic acid-based gel, a substance that is naturally occurring in your skin. It is used to fill in wrinkles and plump aging skin that has experienced a loss of volume. Your Juvederm injections will temporarily compensate for the reduced levels of collagen in your skin caused by the aging process. The results generally last six to nine months. Since it is made from a naturally occurring substance, there is almost no risk of allergic reaction or other side effects.
Juvederm is FDA approved to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is a particularly effective treatment for nasolabial folds. It can also be used for lip augmentation procedures if you desire fuller, plumper lips.
