Injectables Formulated with Lidocaine

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved new formulations of several popular dermal fillers. The new formulations of Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Perlane® all contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic which will provide you with increased comfort during your treatment.

Juvederm XC

Juvederm XC will be the first dermal filler containing lidocaine to hit the U.S. market. The use of lidocaine in the dermal filler will help numb the treatment region, reducing the need for the use of an additional topical anesthetic during your treatment. Lidocaine will start taking effect within seconds, and it minimizes pain during the injection.

The original non-lidocaine formulation of Juvederm required the use of topical anesthetics which would often take as long as 30 minutes to begin working. Juvederm XC reduces your treatment time while providing a more comfortable experience in addition to the same smooth, long-lasting results you regularly experience with Juvederm.

Juvederm and Juvederm XC are clinically proven to effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly the nasolabial folds around the nose and mouth.

Restylane-L and Perlane-L

Restylane-L is a new formulation of the popular dermal filler Restylane, which has been clinically proven to effectively treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, including the nasolabial folds. Restylane-L contains lidocaine, which helps reduce the pain experienced during the injection process. The FDA has already approved Restylane-L.

Perlane-L has also received FDA approval. It is a highly effective treatment for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. The addition of lidocaine in this formulation of Perlane will increase your comfort during treatment.
