Tattoo Removal
With the latest in technology, tattoos can be come a thing of the past.  Lasers are the treatment of choice when it comes to the removal of tattoos due to their ability to remove the pigment in the skin without creating a scar.  Our YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) Medlite Laser is one of the premier lasers in tattoo removal.

How does tattoo removal work?
The YAG laser breaks down the tattoo by targeting the pigment in the skin and allowing our body's natural defense mechanism to dissolve the particles over a period of treatments.  The laser does this by using a short, powerful color controlled light pulse.  The pulse created is absorbed by the targeted color and not the skin surrounding it; this is how the pigment is broken into tiny particles beneath the skins surface.

Does tattoo removal hurt?
The unfortunate thing about tattoos is that nothing about them is pain free; they are uncomfortable being applied and removed.  Laser tattoo removal is no different and most patients feel it is more tolerable than the pain associated with tattoo application and feels similar to a rubber band snap.

How many treatments will it take?
Tattoo removal procedures are customized for each patient and have been proven to be effective on a variety of ink colors and skin tones.  It is difficult to say how many treatments it will take to completely remove a tattoo because of the variety of inks and techniques used.  We recommend being seen by one of our experts.  If you would like more information and an idea how many treatments your tattoo may take to dissipate, please contact our office for a free consultation.
