Just as we start aging the second we are born, so does our skin. Lines and wrinkles begin to form followed by that beautiful little law of gravity that causes volume loss and sagging in our facial structure. So what’s to blame? What is breaking down and giving us that “aged” appearance?

It’s collagen. Collagen is an amino acid and one of the most abundant proteins in the body. Your collagen supply decreases as you age. Maintaining healthy levels of collagen is one of the most important factors in the prevention and mitigation of aging skin.

What do peptides have to do with anti-aging?

They’re the powerhouse ingredients in anti-aging products. Peptides are chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins in the skin. They have a unique ability to communicate with our cells, sending signals to let them know how to function. Peptides work together with the proteins to communicate what type of collagen (of the 23 different types in our body) is in need of repair. Peptides therefore aid in the rebuilding of collagen, which ultimately improves the overall appearance of your skin, especially with visible signs of aging like: static lines, wrinkles, texture, tone, and sagging.

Peptides work over time, they’re not the tortoises in the anti-aging ingredient race, but they’re not the hare either. They take their time at the start, but once the collagen begins to build, they just keep building and doing great things for your skin.  It can take up to three months for a peptide product to begin to show results, so be patient. Remember good skin is worth the wait (and effort!). Upkeep on your products with peptides is so important. If you stop using them, signs will become visible.

Peptides require a little help from their friends.

While anti-aging peptides are used to revitalize building blocks making the skin more resilient, they need the help of their friends to function to their maximum potential. Along with anti-aging peptides, your skin care product formulation should include specialized ingredients to help the peptides do their job. Ingredients like antioxidants and skin restoring ingredients. When all of these ingredients are properly formulated in a skincare product, they work very well to address multiple signs of aging, and provide amazing results.

Looking for a true anti-aging cream with peptides?

Our Transformation Cream is jam packed with peptides and antioxidants to slow the process of aging. Whether the way you age is attributed to genetics, free radicals (environment) or because the number of birthday candles this year is one more than last year, this cream can be used against many factors for aging. Peptide technology has come a long way, and is still evolving which makes our products containing these tried and true anti-aging catalysts that much more effective. Whether you use it preventatively to preserve your skin and slow the aging process by preserving your collagen levels, or you use it head on to smooth the fine lines and wrinkles that may already exist, this product should be considered a “must try”.

A deeper look at the anti-aging peptides in our Transformation Serum:

1. Tetradecyl-Aminobutyroylvalylaminobutric Urea Trifluoroacetate (TAUT)

A peptide with four (“tetra” from the Greek) different peptides in the formulation. It’s a skin-conditioning agent that stimulates the production of collagen, giving the face a fuller, firmer look.

2. Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3:

A peptide responsible for repairing the skin and increasing its smoothness. Works to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It is considered to be one of the most powerful peptides used in anti-aging skin care products.

3. Palmitoyl Dipeptide-5 Diaminobutyroyl Hydroxythreonine:

A peptide that is a skin-conditioning agent with active anti-aging properties. It stimulates the production of the protein collagen to produce visible results in skin restoration.

Where to use it in your regimen?

At night after cleansing and using your toner, you will apply the Transformation Cream, then finish your routine with a Retinol (if needed), and apply moisturizer on areas outside your T-zone. Transformation Cream can also be used in the morning if you wanted to increase its power in a shorter amount of time.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS – Over 25 years ago when I entered the skin care business, I often wondered if it was necessary to use an entire line of products together. Today, after years of research and extensive experience developing and formulating two skin care product lines, I can unequivocally say the answer is YES. Using only one product in the line, while a good starting point, is not going to provide the full results that the team of products working together can provide. Why? Products from the same line are often formulated to create a balanced PH environment for our skin, they also have ingredient compatibility when used in combination with each other, and the results provided when used altogether are greater.
