Woman researching CoolSculpting in DenverMore than 4,000,000 people have been treated with CoolSculpting worldwide. But is it right for you? If you are trying to weigh the pros and cons of this procedure, perhaps it would help to consider the bottom line: How do the numbers stack up? Below, we've described the advantages of CoolSculpting numerically. How is CoolSculpting beneficial? Let us count the ways!

In Minutes: Treatment Time

35 minutes. That's all the time it takes to complete a treatment area. You may decide to treat more than one area, and if those areas are all treated in the same appointment, that will most likely extend it to longer than 35 minutes. During this appointment, you will relax in the treatment chair. Many people like to read, browse on their devices or listen to an audiobook. Because CoolSculpting is completely non-surgical, there is no anesthesia or "going under" during the treatment.

How Many Treatment Areas?

At least 8. These 8 common treatment areas are:

  • Bra rolls
  • Banana rolls (extra fat rolls beneath the buttocks)
  • Thighs
  • Abdomen
  • Under the chin
  • Flanks
  • Back fat
  • Upper arms

If you aren't sure whether your area of concern qualifies, we encourage you to meet with our team. After assessing the area, we can determine whether a CoolSculpting applicator can be used. Applicators are designed to fit over the body area. The skin is gently pulled between two cooling panels, which are what freeze the fat cells. At Facial Aesthetics, we were the first Denver practice to begin using the CoolSculpting Petite, an applicator designed specifically for the upper arms.

Number of Treatment Sessions

1+ treatments. The only way to know for sure is to visit us for a consultation. While a single cycle is effective for some people, others may benefit from multiple sessions. If you do require multiple sessions, then we will discuss whether it is possible to combine them into a single appointment, allowing you to avoid returning to the office multiple times.

How Much of a Difference?

20-25 percent. According to ZELTIQ, the manufacturer of CoolSculpting, the device reduces fat cells in the treated area by 20-25 percent. Another advantage is that 0 percent of fat cells in untreated areas are reduced – only targeted cells are affected, resulting in a very precise procedure.

In Dollars: CoolSculpting Cost

Variable. During your consultation at Facial Aesthetics, if we determine you are a good candidate for the treatment, we will also present you with a complete cost estimate. We also work with CareCredit to provide affordable monthly payment plans for those who qualify.

Recovery Days

0! CoolSculpting is non-surgical and non-invasive. It requires no downtime whatsoever. It's entirely possible to return to work and other activities right away, although some people prefer to take the rest of the day off to relax.

CoolSculpting abdomen results in Denver CONumber of Weeks Before Results are Visible

3+ weeks. CoolSculpting works by freezing excess fat cells. Once frozen, they are essentially destroyed. But your body must naturally process them out of your system before you will see results. This takes time.

It takes at least 3 weeks to see visible results. Most people see a dramatic difference 2 months after treatment. Your body will continue to flush the destroyed fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months after treatment, although this minor reduction in volume tends to be much less noticeable than the slimming that took place over 3 weeks to 2 months.

Results Through the Years

Gone for good! CoolSculpting actually eliminates certain fat cells by freezing them. Compare this to the weight loss process, in which fat cells shrink but do not go away. Because your body naturally eliminates the frozen fat cells treated with CoolSculpting, they won't return. But it's still possible to gain weight. If you gain significant weight it could enlarge fat cells remaining in the treatment area, as well as elsewhere on your body.

Many people feel more motivated to maintain their body shape following CoolSculpting treatment. So results tend to be well-preserved as patients pursue healthy diets and active lifestyles.

How Common Is It?

More than 4,000,000 CoolSculpting procedures have been performed across the globe, and that number continues to rise! According to ZELTIQ, the safety and effectiveness of CoolSculpting has been studied by way of over 5,500 patients involved in clinical trials.

And we know from recent statistics that these non-invasive fat reduction methods are in high demand: According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, non-invasive procedures that freeze fat were up 5% in 2016 compared to the previous year.
