What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a fat-reduction treatment that targets your problem areas for a leaner look. The unique fat-freezing device is proven to reduce pesky bulges in multiple areas of the body and can offer results in as little as a single session. It comes as no surprise that CoolSculpting is the number one non-surgical fat reduction treatment used by doctors.
CoolSculpting has many advantages:
- Short, painless treatment
- No downtime
- Long-term results
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
CoolSculpting works using a process called cryolipolysis. The term describes how fat cells freeze when exposed to a certain temperature. Freezing the unwanted cells has a cosmetic benefit since your body will naturally metabolize and eliminate them in the following months. Once the fat cells are gone, they cannot come back.
If cold temperatures kill fat cells so easily, can you get the same body shaping results by applying ice at home? While it may seem safe to assume that putting an ice pack on your stomach can reduce belly fat, that is not the case. Not only is DIY fat-freezing ineffective, but it can lead to ice burns or tissue damage.
There is far more to a CoolSculpting treatment performed by a trained professional than cooling fat cells. One of the many amazing things about the sophisticated CoolSculpting technology is that the surrounding skin and tissue are unaffected.

CoolSculpting Treatment Areas
CoolSculpting applicators, both the regular-sized and the Petite, are designed to reduce fat in several areas of the body. These include the:
- Bra roll
- Underneath the buttocks
- Inner and outer thighs
- Love handles
- Underneath the chin
A Closer Look at CoolSculpting for Arm Fat
CoolSculpting is approved for many areas of the body, including the arms. There is an applicator specifically designed to tackle this area called the CoolAdvantage Petite. There are various applicators designed for different areas of the body.
The Petite applicator fits perfectly over the contour of the arms, inner thighs, or under the chin, allowing us to remove the dreaded excess fat that so many people experience in those areas. Our experienced team will assess the amount of fat in those areas, as well as the degree of skin laxity, to determine if the Petite applicator will work for you.
CoolSculpting Candidates near Denver & Greenwood Village
Men and women with the following qualifying factors are ideal candidates for CoolSculpting:
- Dealing with stubborn bulges of fat. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss technique, but instead reduces excess fat cells in very specific areas. These stubborn bulges of fat are typically resistant to diet and are difficult to target through exercise. If you can pinch a trouble area between your fingers, CoolSculpting may be right for you.
- At or near your ideal body weight. You will get the best results from CoolSculpting once you are within 10-15 pounds of your ideal weight.
- Interested in a non-invasive fat reduction method. Get back to your normal activities the same day! CoolSculpting is well-suited for men and women who want to get back to their lives as quickly as possible, with no needles, surgery, or downtime.
The only way to know if you are a good candidate is to arrange a one-on-one consultation with one of our Denver CoolSculpting Specialists so that they may assess your area(s) of concern. At this time, we will let you know how many cycles you will likely need to get your desired results. Additionally, we will make sure to answer all of your questions or concerns and provide you with all the information you need in order to decide if this treatment is right for you.
Your Denver CoolSculpting Appointment: What to Expect
Our CoolSculpting Specialists will apply a protective gel pad before placing the patented applicator on your target area. The applicator uses gentle vacuum suction to gather the skin and fat between two panels, which freeze the fat cells without affecting the skin or surrounding tissue.
The pressure from the tissue being drawn into the panels may cause mild sensations of tugging, pulling, or pinching, with the area starting to feel numb after about 5 to 10 minutes. Overall, most patients describe the treatment as comfortable.
Each area or cycle takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. During your treatment session, you are free to sit back and relax, catch up on reading, watch a movie, or even take a nap! The CoolSculpting device will be working its magic during this time, freezing away stubborn fat cells.
How Long Does it Take to See Results from CoolSculpting?
Most people notice a difference in the treated area after about three weeks. The best results are most visible after three to four months, at which point your body has had a chance to metabolize the destroyed fat cells.
You may need more than one treatment to achieve your desired outcome and experience the most significant benefits from CoolSculpting. Our CoolSculpting Specialists will work with you to create a customized plan during your consultation, so you know how many sessions to expect.
The Longevity of CoolSculpting Results
According to ZELTIQ, the device manufacturer, long-term studies following CoolSculpting patients have not yet been completed. Studies completed so far have shown results are still present six months after the treatment.
For our patients at Facial Aesthetics, the fat bulges that have been slimmed down remain slimmed down, unless significant weight is gained. The frozen fat cells are permanently removed, but fat can still accumulate in the remaining cells. It is important to pursue a healthy lifestyle to maintain your results.
Does CoolSculpting Tighten Skin?
CoolSculpting is currently FDA-cleared to address lax tissue below the chin. In an 18-week clinical study regarding submental fat treatment, 77 percent of patients experienced an improvement in lax tissue, and 75 percent found their chin looked more toned after treatment.
Anecdotally, some patients have noted an improvement in skin tone and appearance after receiving the treatment in other areas. One possible explanation behind this change is that intense cold is thought to encourage collagen production. Another explanation is that the gradual nature of the fat loss may give the skin ample time to contract, compared to immediate fat removal methods such as liposuction.
Be aware that this potential benefit is not guaranteed and still needs to be studied. Meanwhile, a designated laxity-reducing treatment such as SkinTyte is a great option that can achieve noticeable results across many areas of the body.
The Cost of CoolSculpting in Denver
CoolSculpting pricing often varies by patient. The cost depends on your areas of concern and the number of treatments needed to achieve your goals. You will receive a personalized estimate during your in-person consultation.
On average, a personalized CoolSculpting treatment plan tends to cost between $2,000 and $4,000. We offer competitive rates and financing options to help make CoolSculpting accessible to our Denver area patients. We also run specials on this treatment.
Remember that cost is not the only factor to consider when choosing a CoolSculpting provider. Cheap sessions often come at a cost, particularly when offered by those who are inexperienced or underqualified. If the latest CoolSculpting protocol is not followed, there is an increased risk of side effects and other concerns that can keep you from achieving the results you desire.
Laser Liposuction vs. CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is not the only fat removal treatment available today. Many of our patients ask how CoolSculpting compares to other body sculpting services, such as laser liposuction.
These two options are similar in many ways. For example, they are both safe and effective, with minimal risk of side effects. However, there are differences worth noting.
The first point of distinction between the two options is invasiveness. While CoolSculpting is completely non-invasive, laser liposuction is a minor surgical procedure involving a small incision. The next point of distinction is convenience. You can return to your daily routine immediately after CoolSculpting. With laser liposuction, you will likely need to set aside several days to recover.
For many people, CoolSculpting offers advantages over options like laser liposuction that make it the preferred choice. You can learn more about choosing CoolSculpting over alternative body contouring treatments and procedures during your consultation.
Choosing a CoolSculpting Specialist
CoolSculpting should be provided by a ZELTIQ-approved practice. Facial Aesthetics is a Denver CoolSculpting Certified Practice and a Premier Crystal Practice, which means we are recognized as a trusted, high-volume CoolSculpting medical spa.
Another factor to consider is experience. How often and how regularly does your prospective practice perform CoolSculpting? At our Facial Aesthetics locations in Denver and Greenwood Village, CoolSculpting is a significant part of what we do. Our trained and experienced CoolSculpting Specialists have attended CoolSculpting University and are certified in all areas of CoolSculpting.
