What Is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, FDA-approved alternative to liposuction, with no needles and no downtime. This form of body contouring works for a majority of patients and removes stubborn fat cells from various parts of your body where fat cells are hard to target.
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
CoolSculpting uses the technology of Cryolipolysis® to vacuum an area of fat between two cooling panels which freezes and kills the fat cells without damaging the skin. The body allows the dead fat cells to be processed and expelled naturally. This cycle happens over the course of three weeks to three months and you will notice a gradual difference over time, with final results around the 16 week mark. The fat cells do not come back once disposed and are gone from your body permanently.
What Does It Feel Like?
During the procedure, you may feel some tugging or pinching or pulling on the area. Your skin will gradually become numb after several minutes as the freezing effect goes to work. These symptoms will fade over the course of the session. Everyone experience's their treatment differently; you may feel a bit uncomfortable or feel no discomfort at all. Most people read, watch a movie, or take a nap!
After your CoolSculpting session, you may experience some redness, bruising, swelling or stinging sensations. This will subside in a couple of weeks. You can help this by massaging or adding heat to the area.
Do I Qualify For CoolSculpting?
This procedure is not meant as a weight-loss solution. CoolSculpting works best on the parts of your body where you may have small, stubborn pockets of fat that diet and exercise are unable to target. The best way to know if you are a good candidate for CoolSculpting is by scheduling a consultation with one of our CoolSculpting Specialists. Each consultation is customized based on a person's unique body shape, the areas that they want to treat, and if there is pinchable fat. Our CoolSculpting Specialists help you to determine if you have realistic goals and if CoolSculpting is the right treatment to help you attain those goals.
Is It Safe?
The CoolSculpting procedure is safe and effective. No needles, surgery or downtime are involved. It's FDA-approved and has given many patients satisfying, lasting results.
What Are The Side Effects?
The treatment process could cause some slight pain and discomfort including: pulling, stinging, swelling, bruising and other minor tingling sensations. The redness should subside rather quickly in the span of a couple hours. The tingling or numbness in the treatment area may last up to two weeks which you can help by gentle massaging. You can also have intermittent sharp pains or "zingers", as your body recovers and removes the dead cells.
How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost?
The price varies depending on the area of your body that you'd like to focus on and how many cycles you may need to accomplish your goals. Our CoolSculpting Specialists will be able to give you a price once you have consulted with them.
Is There Any Downtime Required After My Treatment?
CoolSculpting is non-invasive and requires no down time. You may have some discomfort, but can return to your normal activities and daily routine right after your treatment session without interruption.
Will I Need More Than One Treatment?
Each person has a unique body shape and different body expectations. The best way to know how many CoolSculpting treatments or cycles you will need is to schedule your initial consultation at either our Denver or Greenwood Village location 303-377-2868.
How Long Does A CoolSculpting Treatment Take?
Our new and improved applicators have allowed us to condense each cycle down to only 35 minutes! The time may increase if you should decide to do more than one area during your appointment time.
When Will I See Results?
Most patients begin to notice results around three weeks after their CoolSculpting treatment. The final effects will show up close to three to four months later, but you will see gradual improvements during this time. We recommend that you come in for a follow-up appointment to assess your progress, take pictures and decipher if you should need more treatments to reach your desired goal.
What Are The CoolSculpting Alternatives?
Liposuction is the most effective alternative to CoolSculpting, but liposuction only removes the fat. The CoolSculpting process freezes and kills fat cells and prevents any fat from collecting in that area in the future.
How Much Fat Is Removed And Where Does It Go?
You could have up to 25% of your fat cells killed in a specific area, but this depends on your body type and the number of treatments you undergo. These dead cells filter out of your body via your lymphatic system over the span of several months. The fat cells are gone, which then stops fat from building up in that area again.
Can CoolSculpting Get Rid Of Cellulite?
Neither liposuction nor CoolSculpting can completely remove cellulite. Speak with our Facial Aesthetics staff about your cellulite options.
What If I Gain Weight Back?
Fat cells in the treated area are filtered out of your body, but weight gain can cause all of your body to accumulate fat. Many of our patients take good care of their bodies and overall health in order to keep their newly sculpted bodies in shape.
